The debate about rising global inflation and increases in interest rates is hugely relevant for South Africa’s agriculture and agribusiness sectors.





South Africa is a diverse and sizable country of 122 million hectares. But there is a commonality in challenges that farmers and agribusiness raise regardless of the provinces or municipalities.





KwaZulu-Natal is a major agricultural province with significant production of various products such as sugarcane, fruit, dairy, and poultry.





Despite being mostly semi-arid, SA has ample agricultural output. As a country, we export about half of what we produce in value terms a year. These exported products were worth a record $12.4bn in 2021.
