IT IS NOW common knowledge that the Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted agricultural and food supply chains in unprecedented ways, and the results continue to be experienced in developed and developing economies.





We have been writing for a while about South Africa's agricultural performance in 2020, but with full-year trade data now available, we felt compelled to revisit the subject. South Africa's agricultural exports amounted to US$10,2 billion in 2020, which is a 3% increase from the previous year.





In order for Avocados to reach their full growth potential they must be irrigated in the right amount: not too much and not too little.





South Africa needs 16,000MW of new power generation capacity by 2030, but the government has not procured a single megawatt of additional power.
