Constant exposure to high-intensity stimulation
may influence not only appetite but also how much stimulation the brain needs to feel satisfied.
The deeper question may not be, "Why am I eating more?" but rather, "When did my ability to feel fulfilled by simple things begin to change?"
True healing may involve restoring the body's and brain's capacity to find enjoyment, satisfaction, and reward in the ordinary experiences that once felt naturally fulfilling.

MENOPAUSE: IS ESTROGEN REALLY GONE FOREVER?
Many women entering menopause are told that their estrogen levels simply disappear and that the symptoms they experience are an unavoidable part of aging. Hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disturbances, weight gain, mood changes, and reduced energy are often accepted as normal consequences of declining hormone production.
During menopause, the ovaries gradually reduce their production of estrogen and progesterone. Hormone levels fluctuate significantly before eventually settling at lower levels than during the reproductive years. This hormonal transition can affect multiple systems throughout the body, including metabolism, sleep patterns, bone health, cardiovascular function, and emotional wellbeing.
I get asked a lot about menopause and how to navigate it. My approach is to start around 5 years before the average age of menopause. The goal is to strengthen the adrenals so they can produce the extra estrogen your body needs during that transition.
Because of these changes, many women look for natural ways to support their bodies during this phase of life. Regular exercise, stress management, proper nutrition, quality sleep, and maintaining a healthy body weight can all play important roles in helping the body adapt to hormonal changes.
Some advocates claim that practices such as Hormone Yoga can dramatically increase estrogen production, reverse menopause, eliminate hot flashes, restore menstrual cycles, stop fibroids and endometriosis, and rapidly reduce weight. While yoga and breathing exercises can certainly improve flexibility, reduce stress, enhance circulation, improve sleep quality, and support overall wellbeing, scientific evidence does not currently support claims that yoga can fully restore ovarian function or reverse menopause.
What many women do experience, however, is an improvement in symptoms. Stress reduction alone can have a significant impact on how the body manages hormonal fluctuations. When cortisol levels decrease, sleep improves, inflammation may be reduced, and overall quality of life often increases.
Menopause should not be viewed as a disease. It is a natural biological transition that every woman experiences differently. Some women have minimal symptoms, while others face significant challenges that affect daily life.
The most important message is that women have options. Whether through lifestyle changes, exercise, nutritional support, medical guidance, or a combination of approaches, many women can improve their health and wellbeing during menopause.
